Our Story
M-wellness is a mental health advocacy organization committed to making mental wellbeing a societal priority through campaigns, advocacy, adventure, empowerment, charity, and fostering individual development and awareness.
M-wellness was born out of the realization that mental health is often neglected or misunderstood in society. Maina J. Mwangi, our founder, saw this gap firsthand and was driven to make a difference. From those early days, M-wellness has grown into a vibrant community of mental health advocates, volunteers, and supporters who share a common vision of creating a mentally healthy society.
Our story is one of passion, resilience, and community. Through our three core programs—Mwellness (mental health advocacy), Msafaris (mental health therapy travel), and Mcharity (charity for vulnerable children)—we offer practical, engaging, and heartfelt ways to support mental wellness. We believe that with the right tools, environments, and support, every individual can achieve balance, growth, and happiness. And that is why we are committed to walking this journey with you.
How We Started
Our Inspiring Journey
At M-wellness, our journey began with a simple yet profound mission: to make mental wellness a priority for everyone. Founded three years ago by Maina J. Mwangi, a passionate mental health advocate, we started as a small group committed to raising awareness about mental health. Over time, what began as a local initiative blossomed into a movement that touches lives across different communities.
With the unwavering belief that mental wellness is key to living a fulfilling life, we have continually expanded our programs, reaching people through advocacy campaigns, community engagements, therapeutic adventures, and charitable work. From hosting weekly online mental health sessions to organizing nature therapy hikes and supporting vulnerable children, we’ve stayed true to our goal: fostering a society that values mental health as much as physical health.
What We Do
Weekly Mental Health Sessions
We host virtual mental health sessions every week on Google Meet, open to anyone seeking guidance, support, or knowledge. These sessions, run by mental health professionals and volunteers, provide a safe space for discussions, mental health tips, and community support.
Through our Msafaris
Nature and adventure are powerful tools for healing. Through our Msafaris program, we offer therapeutic travel experiences that combine adventure with mental wellness. These monthly outings include hikes, team-building exercises, and networking opportunities in beautiful, natural settings. Participants benefit from the stress-relieving and rejuvenating effects of being outdoors, promoting better mental health through connection with nature and others.
Volunteer Engagement
Our volunteers not only donate goods but also spend quality time with the children—cooking, helping with daily chores, and participating in fun activities that bring joy and a sense of community.
